Tips for Hiring the Right Employee

Focus on Job Descriptions
When you are writing the job description, keep it short and to the point. If you make it too lengthy some good candidates will read right over it. When you are listing the responsibilities of the job position try writing it from the point of what you can do for that candidate rather than what they will be doing for you. It will sound less demanding and more inviting for the possible candidates.

Check Social Media Profiles
In today’s society, potential candidates for job positions are pouring their lives onto the internet. A quick Google search of their name can reveal a lot about them, but what can reveal even more is their social media pages. People put their personalities into their social media accounts and from there you can get a quick idea of their personality and whether or not they would be good for the position.

Let the Candidates Interview You
Make sure to ask throughout the interview process if the candidate has any questions for you. If they are prepared with questions, it shows they have done their research on the job position and are truly interested in it. It will also give you insight into what they are like and what they care about because parts of who they are and their personality will show through when you give them a chance to interview you.

Ask the Right Questions
Before the interview process begins, make sure you have the set of questions you will be asking. Keep your questions unique and refreshing. By asking certain questions that normally wouldn’t be asked you can get an idea it the person would be a good fit for the position. All the questions don’t have to be just about the job and office space. If you truly want to get to know someone to see if they will be a good fit, ask them out of the box questions.

Remember Personality
Some jobs just aren’t made for people with certain personalities; going into the interviews make sure you know what kind of person you want to fill the position. Of course certain positions can be fit with most types of personalities and you should never count someone out, but really get to know them to see if they will be a good fit for what you expect out of them in that job position.

Carefully Read Through Resume
It seems silly, but sometimes when reading through resumes you can read over something very important that would make someone stand out. Candidate’s resumes are where they get to brag about their accomplishments and why they are suited for the position. Carefully read through their resume. If you have any questions regarding information on their resume, don’t be afraid to ask them.
